After 30 years of criminal and civil litigation practice, Richard found his calling and rediscovered his passion for the law in 2009 when confronted with the imminent execution of a Greyhound dog for doing what she had been bred for thousands of years to do. After saving her life, he started receiving calls from greyhound rescue groups and others all over the country asking for advice and assistance where dogs were being unjustly imprisoned or facing execution. Since then, Richard has successfully litigated animal rights cases (and often changed laws and practices) in 29 States in over 100 cases, including the Nevada and Maine Supreme Courts. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Columbia College and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
